Steve Graham Mellow, proggy, jazzy, complex. My kind of music.

kingmetalgod I love this kind of progressive Rock. Old school complex stuff with a little fusion Jazz in it and a very finde female Singer. Great Band!

Sven B. Schreiber Hello! My name is Sven, and I hate prog! Well, no, that's not really true. I was born in 1958, and actually, I was a die-hard art rock fan and proghead. What I hate is what narrow-minded self-proclaimed prog artists have made of this genre by now. Every now and then, my old enthusiasm is aroused once again by bands like "Thieves' Kitchen", who still manage to get prog right these days - and I'm talking about the prog core business, not some post-something neighbors. Thank you from the heart! Favorite track: Uffington.
Nicolas Calvé

Nicolas Calvé Great album! The more I listen to it, the more I like it! It has the best qualities of prog rock with none of its flaws. Subtle and energetic at once! A must-have for art-rock aficionados!
Tom Landon

Tom Landon This consistently brilliant band have done it again, crafting a wonder of prog worthy to rank among the best. The compositions are intricate, but appear simple (bravo!). The playing is top-notch. Like my friend Sven, I particularly love Uffington, an extremely "Canterburesque" piece which even has a direct quote from National Health (0:50, Tenemos Roads?) in the intro. A special mention for Amy Darby. I'm very difficult about words and vocals, but hers are always beautiful and apposite. Favorite track: Uffington.
wafiii thumbnail
wafiii One of the most talented and accomplished lineups in progressive rock music, these artists seem to be getting better as they age, mellowing and not requiring the intense complexities, expressing a rarely encountered mastery of space and understatement--accomplishing more with less. Though these songs feel so easy and smooth, the note-by-note renderings are quite complex and rarely predictable. Favorite track: Mirie it is.

Thieves' Kitchen UK

Burning Shed describe Thieves' Kitchen as "a sophisticated mixture of the old and the new, as Mellotrons and Hammonds collide with powerful guitar riffs and unusual Canterbury prog harmonies fuse with art rock bite and ethereal folk-tinged songcraft."
