Deidre House Some sweet retro prog featuring flute and a female vocalist. Thanks to Mike Manchester for the recommendation! Favorite track: A Fool's Journey.

Mick Knapton Really neat album, best track IMHO is "Of Sparks and Spires " where Phil and Thomas really rock out. Pastoral for much of the time with great vocals accompanied by nice flute. Definitely a quieter form of rock music and that's a positive. Fine band, great musicians. Favorite track: Of Sparks and Spires.

It’s not easy to make music this complex sound so grounded, but on “One for Sorrow, Two for Joy” Thieves’ Kitchen pull it off with aplomb and in the process, land their most accessible album yet.

The band, Amy Darby (vocals), Phil Mercy (Guitars), and Thomas Johnson (Keyboards, ex-Anglagard) blend elements of Canterbury, Folk, Fusion, Symphonic, and Rock to produce music as adventurous as it is familiar, as melodic as it is intricate, an ‘Englishness’ to its flavour, Swedish in its texture.

Burning Shed describe Thieves' Kitchen as "a sophisticated mixture of the old and the new, as Mellotrons and Hammonds collide with powerful guitar riffs and unusual Canterbury prog harmonies fuse with art rock bite and ethereal folk-tinged songcraft."
